This is a simple demonstration of a Progressive Web App (PWA). PWA’s are designed to bridge the gap between traditional websites and dedicated mobile apps. They can be installed to a users phone. They can support offline usage. They can use device notifications to provide a rich experience.

This demo is installable

This demo can be installed on Android and Apple devices to provide quick and easy access for the user:

• On Android, tap the three menu dots top right, then “Add to Home Screen”
• On Apple, tap the “share” icon bottom centre, then tap “Add to Home Screen”

Extra features

This site demonstrates some of the key aspects of PWAs:

• That the core of a PWA is still a responsive, mobile first, website. This site works across desktops, tablets and mobiles.
• The basics of a Single Page Application. The URL for the site does not change between pages.
• Device connection state handling. A message is shown to the user when they are offline
• Offline support. Once installed, the demo can be used offline
